Monalisa

“My name is Monalisa Samora. We are three children in my family - all are girls, and I was born in 1 st of June, 2004. My parents separated in 2014, I live with my single mother, my young sisters and other relatives (extended family) in inherited house (grandfather’s house) at Arusha-Northern Tanzania.

My mother is employed as a cook in a local restaurant, she is the sole provider to our family. I love my mother because she has been taking care of our family.

I completed my primary education in 2017, unfortunately I did not continue with secondary studies due family financial struggles. From there I stayed at home helping my mother with domestic chores and taking care of my young sisters.

I joined Umoja in 2019, until when I leave Umoja, I hope to be a lawyer. I believe women should also benefits and enjoy their rights”.
